Pretty cool
I bought this for my son and he plays with it all the time. So far he has only broke one of the barrels off. It comes with a silencer barrel, but I’ll wait until he is more careful before putting that barrel on. It came with a scope (button battery included), tactical light that attaches (AAA batteries included), and a rechargeable NiCad pack for the gun. It lasts for a long time between charges.
FOR THE MONEY THIS WAS AN EXELENT DEAL
THE WIEGHT IS REALISTIC AND THE OPTIONS PACKAGE IS VERY COMPLETE, MORE GADGETS AND GOODIES ON THIS AIRSOFT THAN CAN BE BELIEVED FOR THE MONEY.
ACCURACY IS NOT SO GREAT BUT THE VOLUME OF FIRE COVERS THE TARGET. POWER IS CLOSE QUARTERS AND SUPPRESSIVE FIRE IS 150 FEET OR SO. BATTERY LIFE IS PRETTY GOOD AND THE BATTERY IS CONCEALED IN THE HANDGUARDS UNDER A REALISTIC SLIP RING RELEASE. THE MOLDED NONFUNCTIONAL PARTS APPEAR LIKE THEY WOULD MOVE THEY DONT LOOK STATIC I HAD TO TRY THEM TO BELIEVE IT.
THIS AIRSOFT I RECOMEND FOR ANYONE THAT WANTS AN AFFORDABLE–VERY AFFORDABLE!!!!!—— REPLICA WEAPON THAT YOU CAN LOOK AT AND PLAY WITH.

Firearm

firearm device consisting essentially of a straight tube to propel shot, shell, or bullets by the explosion of gunpowder . Although the Chinese discovered gunpowder as early as the 9th cent., they did not develop firearms until the mid-14th cent. By that time, firearms, particularly in the form of heavy cannon, were in general use in Europe and Asia Minor. With such firearms, the Ottoman Turks captured Constantinople. From the 15th cent., when the matchlock appeared, to the end of the U.S. Civil War, firearms became increasingly important in battle, and military tactics had to adapt constantly to successive improvements in their design. The early matchlocks, which depended on a lit match for firing the gunpowder, were supplanted first by flintlocks (perfected at the turn of the 17th cent.) that used a striking flint for firing, and then by various breach-loading firearms (perfected in the middle of the 19th cent.), which used bullets fitted with shells full of gunpowder that was ignited by the impact of a firing pin. In the 15th cent. firearms also came into use in hunting . Firearms were spread throughout the world during the period of European expansion. In some areas they were rapidly integrated into the existing culture and economy. Firearms are generally classified either as large firearms, i.e., artillery , or as small arms .

Desert Eagle, all dressed up…

Desert Eagle… honestly, a gun so mean you’d swear it was made of some strange alien material that makes it supernaturally intimidating. A few of these made an appearance in our recent ‘Punk games, and you just can’t help but think of Matrix Agents when you think Desert Eagle and Cyberpunk.

Desert Eagle, Crisp and Cool

There’s something very crisp about this photo of the cold chrome Eagle laying on marble. The Desert Eagle’s success isn’t just based on firing big ass bullets (.50AE, I’m looking at you), but the design of the Eagle itself is hefty and intimidating without looking like another 1911 variant.

Combat Shooting: Reel Life vs. Real Life

My active and reserve military service has given me many interesting skills that a typical civilian would not be able to acquire. For example, combat shooting or being able to shoot an assault rifle.

In my two and a half years of National Service in a combat vocation, I was trained to use an M16 rifle as well as M203, Ultimax 100 as well as the standard fragmentation and smoke grenades. My reservist stint allowed me to pick up skills in the SAR21 too.

The thing about learning how an assault rifle works is that you are able to differentiate realistic vs. fake scenes in movies where firearms are used.

In a typical action movie, the bad guys go around spraying their weapons indiscriminately and usually they fire from the hip position. In reality, your military training teaches you the following:

1. To shoot and hit the target, you need to AIM
2. Aiming requires a stationary position, preferably supported
3. Breathing can screw up your aim
4. Hitting anything beyond 100m using an assault rifle without a scope is difficult
5. Automatic fire is the most inaccurate firing mode and you run out of ammunition very quickly
6. Unless you have a full-pack full of magazines and rounds, RAMBO style of shooting is for the movies. Even Machine Guns (GPMG)s are fired in controlled bursts for maximum efficiency and not sprayed indiscriminately.

That's why there are not many realistic war movies. The ones that are reasonably close are films such as "Saving Private Ryan", "The Thin Red Line", "Full Metal Jacket". "Band of Brothers" series is also quite accurate in depicting real war.

One of the ironies that I can never understand is that I love war films and tv shows but absolutely abhor my stints in the Singapore Armed Forces as a conscript. Perhaps it's because I know how hard it is to be a real soldier and like to watch war movies comfortably in air-conditioned hall with plush carpeting and excellent THX/Dhoby Digital sound systems and going through how realistic a scene is in my mind.

When I play Counter-Strike type of game called SoldierFront, the tactical moves associated with the computer game is also realistic, i.e. check for blind spots before clearing a room. Using grenades to clear the room prior to assaulting it. However, nothing beats the real thing, and while such games trains up one's tactical awareness, all this goes out the door in real training as you are physically tired and mentally drained while you are trying to do FIBUA or clearing fortified positions and foxholes on top of a hill.

Bostodelphia 21 Gun Salute to the Firearms of 2007 #3: SIG P226 9mm

Number three in our 21 gun salute to 2007 is our first pistol, the Sig Sauer P226. Chambered for 9mm, given a 12 pound trigger pull, and configured for DAO fire, the P226 is one of three pistols authorized for use as a NYPD service weapon. As a gun produced as a "service weapon" yet also produced for the civilian market, the P226 apparently runs the risk of losing a literal "beauty contest" that apparently takes place within the non-service weapon marketplace. For instance, take Jan Libourel's qualification within his otherwise excellent review of the piece in The Arms Sight:

Let's face it, some handguns are loaded with glamour, allure, "sex appeal" or whatever you want to call it - the Luger is one such gun that comes to mind, the Colt Python another. The SIG-Sauer P-226 is not such a pistol; it's built strictly for business. If your primary interest in a handgun is as an object of aesthetic contemplation a lovely thing with lustrous polish and blueing and a figured exotic wood stock, I suggest you forget about the P-226 right now and turn to the next article. If, on the other hand, you might be interested in a superbly accurate, rugged, reliable service auto that may just be the best thing of its kind in the world today, then read on ...

Having forgotten the likely metaphorical origins of colloquial references to a pistol as a "piece", the admittedly not gun buying contributors to Bostodelphia had not considered the above discussed "vanity" criteria to the gun buying market. This factor will certainly be weighed as we continue with our salute; but before continuing our salute to the P226 as an NYPD service weapon, it should be mentioned in the interest of fairness that Sig Sauer does manufacture, among a number of configurations, a special edition of this sidearm crossbranded in collaboration with a company that has been noted this year for both its service and vanity, Blackwater USA. As we're not sure whether the Blackwater P226 is in fact standard issue among Blackwater operators, and being sure that Blackwater will come up again at some point during our salute, we'll now return to the P226's more humble, less mercenary, service.

While actual statistics on the number of P226s on the streets with the NYPD have not been discovered by Bostodelphia, we'll gamble that there is a good chance a plain clothes police officer was carrying a P226 when she was assaulted by Philadelphia CBS3 anchor Alycia Lane. While this incident has generally been discussed in terms of Lane's recent scandal-checked and bad judgment call colored career, it wouldn't be Bostodelphia's Saulte to the Firearms of 2007, if we didn't also mention that Lane's career also included as a stint and anchor for NYC's Cable 12, where she covered the 1999 "41 shots" police shooting of Amadou Diallo. While members of Bostodelphia have propagated elsewhere the conspiracy theory that this whole incident was staged as "payback" against Lane's coverage, we weren't really taking that flight of paranoia seriously.

Gangs Wage War for Warsaw

“Warsaw could face a gang war,” according to police officers from the Central Investigation Office (CBŚ). The first conflict between two rival groups has already taken place. Yesterday, police revealed the details of a Saturday shootout in Marki, near Warsaw. 20 gangsters took part in an exchange of fire, one of the participants, Tomasz W. nicknamed “Króciak”, is dead “He died before his partners managed to drive him to the hospital. We know that they promised revenge,” says an officer of the Warsaw CBŚ. In all probability, the gangster was a member of the “Marki” gang which is lead by “Salaput” (nickname). The fatal shot was inflicted by one of the members of the “Mokotów” gang led by “Belmondziak”. Both gangs are engaged in drug trafficking, robbery and bribery. “There will be more victims in this war unless we catch them,” say officers. In the 1990s, Warsaw became an arena for the bloody struggles between “Pruszków” and “Wołomin”. Gangsters were shooting to each other on the streets with their victims often passers-by. The leaders of both gangs will soon be leaving prison after serving their sentences and this fact could aggravate conflicts in the criminal underworld. “Gangsters are also feeling the impact of the economic crisis. They have to compete harder with one another, this explains the shootouts. However, we are stronger than we were 10 years ago and we will to thwart their plans,” says a CBŚ spokesman.

LEGO Guns Look Dangerous, But Aren't

BrickGun makes LEGO kits that resemble real guns. The company is not to be confused with Brickarms, which makes little guns for LEGO figures. And unlike Forbidden LEGO sets, these won't actually shoot anything. But hey, they still look like guns.

We are the world leader in custom Lego weapon models. We specialize in creating the coolest, most realistic kits that can be built using genuine Lego parts. Each model is life-sized, with accurate dimensions and details. They feature functioning mechanics such as triggers, hammers, slides, safeties and magazines so they not only look like the real thing, they work like the real thing as well.

Yeah, they work just like the real thing. You know, except firing anything. But seriously, that's only a small part of a gun's function anyways. The MP5 kit was a limited edition set and is already sold out, but they still have plenty of Berettas, Glocks and Desert Eagle models (see pictures of these after the jump). All kits range in price from $40 - $60. And honestly, what could be cooler than owning a LEGO gun? Besides, oh I don't know, cutting the grass with a really shitty old mower because your wife won't let you buy a ride-on model. God I hate cutting the grass. Don't some people just like burn their lawn or something?
